Steam Frame removable-storage helper
Prepared for the immerNews storage tutorial, 13 October 2026.
Error messages and already-mounted instructions updated 14 October 2026.

Contents:
map_lepton_storage.py: mount helper, read-only default, explicit --read-write option.
Commands_Quick_Reference.txt: setup, mounting, repeat and removal commands.
Phone_Tablet_SSH_Alternative.txt: Wi-Fi SSH option, not yet tested end to end.

Start with Commands_Quick_Reference.txt. The script runs on SteamOS, not on
Windows or inside Android. Copy it to the headset as described in the guide.
No Python installation on the computer is needed.

Tested with immerGallery on SteamOS 0.4.5, build 20261007.6125817.
Read-only by default. For writing/deleting, mount the Linux source rw and add
--read-write to the helper, including when undoing that writable mapping.
Already mounted rw? Keep it and add --read-write if you want write access.
AlreadyMounted is not a permission change. Use findmnt to check ro/rw first.
USB commands use adb -d for a single USB ADB device; use the native frame
transport_id with adb -t if multiple USB devices are connected. The frame:5555
connection reaches Android/Lepton, not the Linux system needed by the helper.
Mappings last for the running Lepton container.

This does not install automatic removable-storage support.
